Introduction to Important UI Features
This document only covers complex features and their underlying operational logic; simpler features that are self-explanatory are omitted.
Import Share Link from Clipboard (Ctrl+V)
This feature can be triggered by pressing Ctrl+V anywhere outside text input fields. It reads data from the system clipboard, supporting both plain text and BASE64 encoded content. It will attempt to decode BASE64 first, falling back to plain text parsing.
Parsing Logic Sequence:
-
- Check if it starts with
https. If yes, it treats it as a new subscription link. Otherwise, it moves to the next step. - Check if it matches standard protocol sharing formats. If yes, it creates a new mixed configuration. Otherwise, it moves to the next step.
- Check if it is a SIP008 configuration sharing format. If yes, it adds a new Shadowsocks configuration. Otherwise, it moves to the next step.
- Check if it contains WireGuard configuration blocks. If yes, it registers a new WireGuard configuration. Otherwise, it moves to the next step.
- Check if it is an internal v2rayN share link format. If yes, it treats it as a new mixed configuration. Otherwise, it moves to the next step.
- Check if it contains multiple custom configurations for sing-box or v2ray. If yes, it proceeds with the multiple custom configuration flow. Otherwise, it moves to the next step.
- Check if it is a single custom configuration for sing-box or v2ray. If yes, it processes it as a single custom configuration. Otherwise, it moves to the next step.
- Check if it is a custom configuration file for Clash or Hysteria. If yes, it processes it as a custom configuration entry. Otherwise, it moves to the next step.
- If all parsing passes fail, an error message pops up instructing the user to check if the share link is correct.
- Check if it starts with
Add Custom Configuration Profile
Socks Port
Because custom configurations support a wide variety of cores, v2rayN cannot automatically detect which field represents the local listening Socks port within your current configuration file. Therefore, you must manually specify this value.
When this value is configured, Xray or sing-box will spin up an additional frontend service to handle features like traffic routing rules and real-time speed displays. Traffic will first pass through this local frontend service for split-routing, then move through the designated Socks port to your custom proxy core backend, and finally exit to the remote service.
The guide continues with detailed explanations of remaining configuration options and features:
-
- Optional settings & ports: For cores like
mihomo, the Socks port can be left blank as it contains native routing rules. v2rayN manages subscription groups, regular expression filtering for aliases, subscription conversions, custom User-Agents, and pre-proxy/landing proxy aliases. - Subscription & core logic: Subscription updates follow a multi-step sequence (checking status, optional/extra addresses, conversion, and active profile processing). Basic settings cover local mixed ports (with auto-calculated offset ports for LAN, PAC, APIs, etc.), route-only options, multiplexing (Mux), file logging, fragmentation, and network interface binding.
- v2rayN & proxy settings: Startup permissions, Geo-file update intervals, tray menu limits, test batch sizes, root certificate providers (system, mozilla, chrome), and UDP test protocols are configurable. System proxy exceptions and advanced protocol choices are also available.
- TUN mode & certificates: TUN settings include stack choices (
gvisor, mixed, system), MTU adjustments, ICMP routing policies, and IP CIDR exclusion rules. Custom configuration features include certificate pinning (via SHA-256 fingerprints or PEM certificate chains), policy groups (supporting Xray and sing-box types like lowest latency or failover), and chained proxies. - Core, routing & DNS: Users can configure core types, import default/custom rulesets, set domain resolution strategies, add custom icons (Windows), and configure complex JSON rules for
sing-box. Comprehensive DNS options allow separate configuration of Direct, Remote, and Bootstrap DNS, parallel queries, optimistic caching, system hosts integration, FakeIP, SVCB/HTTPS blocking, regional IP validation, and custom DNS hosts. Full configuration templates and non-proxy outbounds can also be managed. - Maintenance & interface: UWP loopback exemptions, statistics clearing, regional presets, backups/restores, storage access, update checks (with security notes for versions 6.10–7.23.2), and exit behavior are detailed, alongside profile list sorting and regex-based information log filtering.
